Sateen, poplin, calico, ranforce. The parameters that decide a selection are weight in g/m², the weave and the declared shrinkage after the first wash. For hospitality we check separately whether industrial laundering is permitted.
A range of 380–600 g/m² covers everything from robes to bath sheets. Higher weight means more absorbency and a heavier consignment — which affects both freight and the drying cycle at the end user.
Linen, half-linen and blends. Hospitality cares about the hem finish and how the cloth behaves under frequent laundering; retail cares about one coherent colour line across cloths, runners and napkins.
Made-up panels and fabric by the metre. For piece goods the deciding figure is roll width: it sets the cutting plan and the percentage of waste. For blackout we state the degree of light blocking separately.
Decorative covers and upholstery cloth. For upholstery the governing figure is abrasion resistance in Martindale cycles; it also determines whether a fabric is fit for contract work.
Kitchen textiles, throws and bedspreads, and the everyday items alongside them. A group with pronounced seasonality — buying is planned ahead against the sales cycle.
